Singer/actor Choi Jung Won, known as a member of the vocal duo UN, has stepped up to deny earlier allegations that he was involved in an affair which "caused a family to break up". 

On January 10, Choi Jung Won stated via his Instagram,

"Hello, this is Choi Jung Won.

First, I apologize for the fact that many of you had to come across such perplexing news.

However, the news initially reported on YouTube contains the one-sided views of the informant. 

I never dated this person, but rather, she is a close friend from my neighborhood, and we grew up together with our families being close. I saw her name pop up on KakaoTalk for the first time in a while, and so I contacted her and shared a meal two~three times, but we simply talked about family matters, raising kids, life, and just caught up on how we've been. There was never any form of indecent behavior as alleged in the news report. 

But after I met up with her, the informant harassed me with numerous accounts of verbal insults and threats, attempting to hold me responsible as to acquire money from me. 

I find it very unfortunate that the informant's one-side accusations, not to mention such exaggerated versions of the story, have become widely spread in the news.

I intend on revealing the truth through legal action very soon, and will be looking into legal action for defamation as well.

Previously, an entertainment YouTuber claimed that Choi Jung Won had been at the center of an affair with a married woman, resulting in the break up of a family with a child.
