On January 16th, Jimin was unveiled as the newest addition to Dior's global ambassadors list, joining big names on the global entertainment scene like Sharon Stone, Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, Johnny Depp and others. He thus became the first BTS member to seal an individual global brand ambassadorship deal with a big luxury fashion brand, and is also the first Asian male to be Dior's global brand ambassador.

A 2022 year end report by Luxe Digital places Dior in second place among the most popular luxury brands in the world [read here], and therefore fans are more than proud that Jimin's impact saw him join such a big fashion brand.

With such high popularity, Dior is one of the leading brands in the world of luxury fashion, with LVMH as the parent company. Of note is that it had previously been reported that Jimin was again the primary reason behind the global brand ambassadorship deal that BTS signed with Louis Vuitton back in 2021, another leading luxury fashion brand that is also under LVMH! Additionally, Jimin was the first and only 3rd generation idol to be named a member of Business of Fashion (BoF 500), a group of a select few individuals around the world who are considered to shape the the multi-trillion dollar global fashion industry.

Fans had been quick to point out a possibility for a collaboration between Jimin and Dior since a few days ago when they noticed that Jimin was wearing outfits from Dior's Spring 2023 men's collection for his W KOREA cover issue. In addition, the magazine tagged Dior on their social media pages when posting about the cover, not to mention executives from Dior posting the cover on their social media pages too.

And now that the official announcement was finally made, fans are showing their enthusiasm, joy and pride in numerous ways. For starters, the announcement posts by Dior all became the highest liked in the history of the brand's account on Twitter and Instagram within a matter of minutes and Jimin took over worldwide trends rising to the top spot instantly. This announcement was very impactful for the brand, so much so that fans noticed that two sons of the LVMH CEO and co-founder liked the brand's post about Jimin on Instagram as well.

Away from social media, fans also demonstrated their enthusiasm over this news with actions! It was seen that the company's stock shot up following this announcement, with many financial news pages reporting on this announcement and its impact. 

Additionally, fans around the world took to different Dior store outlets to purchase various items in support of Jimin, despite the very high price tags on some of the items like the bag he wore at the airport on his way to Paris fashion week. Many of them posted images of their purchased items on social media.

Jimin has always been at the forefront of influencers in fashion, and having partnered with this big brand, it is exciting to see what the journey holds for him!
