BTS topped Hanteo's yearly physical album chart by a landslide.
As the year 2022 is behind, Hanteo announced its yearly physical album chart for 2022. The chart reflects the album sales from 1,100 stores worldwide in real time. According to the chart, BTS topped the 2022 album sales chart with a whopping 7.3 million physical record index and 3 million copies sold. This is a large margin from the runner-up, as Stray Kids came in second place with a 2.8 million physical record index with 2.6 million copies sold.
The physical record index reflects the price of each album sold.
Netizens commented: "It's more accurate to look at the physical record index because it shows the revenue. Otherwise selling four $10 albums will show them having 4 times more sales of albums than selling one $40 album although they generate the same revenue."
"I can't believe some groups have 16 different albums and say they are comparable to BTS in album sales lol"
"I bet BTS would have sold more albums if their albums were cheaper."
"That album of BTS is like $70"
"The difference in physical record index is huge."
They did that with an anthology album YES KINGS! 💜👑
