Parodies are sarcastically exaggerated versions of the original videos that are created for entertainment purposes. K-Pop parodies used to be extremely popular on YouTube in the era of the second generation. Back then, there were a lot of parodies of BIGBANG's music videos on YouTube. Even the members of BIGBANG took part in making parodies of songs by other idol groups and then well-known series like "Boy Over Flower," "Secret Garden," etc. Even now, it's entertaining to watch those parodies created by both fans and idols.

Here, let’s have a look at some of the Parodies made on BIGBANG’s Music Videos.

Lies

“Lies” was released on August 16, 2007, a year after BIGBANG’s debut. The song dominated Korean music charts for a record-breaking six consecutive weeks and earned them their first Daesang. It became an immense hit, and fans started making parodies of the music video.

Haru Haru

Released on August 8, 2008, “Haru Haru” became one of the most popular singles and bestselling songs in South Korea. The music video for “Haru Haru” is also story-based, just like “Lies.” People recreate the story of the music video as a parody.

Because of how popular "Haru Haru" was, even TV personalities took part in creating a parody video. This "Haru Haru" parody video is accessible on the YouTube channel "TV-People." The renowned "Infinite Challenge" cast took part in this. Yoo Jae-Suk and Park Myung Soo respectively played the roles of T.O.P and GD.

Heart breaker

“Heart Breaker” is the solo debut Album of G-Dragon. The album is one of the bestselling albums, and the single topped all Korean charts and has sold over 4 million copies since its release. The album earned GD album of the year Daesang.

Here is a parody of the music video created by south Korean students at that time.

Bad Boy

On February 29, 2012, "BAD BOY," one of the tracks from BIGBANG's Extended Play album "ALIVE," was published. The music video was filmed in New York City and has a nostalgic aesthetic from the 1990s.

In addition to "Bad Boy," "Blue" was also released at the same time. Both "Blue" and "Bad boy" were covered in a parody video uploaded by the "YG Lovers Crew" YouTube channel.

Fantastic Baby

The "Fantastic Baby" music video was released on March 7, 2012. It was stated that the video was a "Visual stunner." The theme of the music video and fashion items, clothing, and hairstyles featured in the MV were futuristic. This was one of the biggest hits by a South Korean group both in and outside of South Korea.

Mnet TV posted this parody video of “Fantastic Baby” in 2016.

Eyes, Nose, Lips

“Eyes, nose, lips” is the second single of Taeyang’s second studio album, “Rise.” The song went on to win song of the year awards at the 2014 MAMA, Gaon Chart Music Awards, Melon Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards (2015), and other events.

In this eyes, nose, and lips parody video, which was featured on "TV-People," comedian and MC Yoo Jae Suk from "Infinite Challenge" played the part of Taeyang.

Good Boy

“Good Boy” is the song performed by the sub-unit of “GD X Taeyang.” The music video was released on November 20, 2014. The song peaked at number one on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart marking the third time a Korean act had dominated the chart after PSY and 2NE1.

Loser

“Loser” was released as BIGBANG’s 5th single album “M” and as the first single of their legendary studio album “Made” (2016). The music video was filmed in Los Angeles and has a different storyline for each member.

Bang Bang Bang

Song of the year of 2015, “Bang Bang Bang,” was released as a part of the single album “A” of the “Made” series. Even today, “Bang Bang Bang” is one of the most legendary releases by a South Korean act.

Zutter

“Zutter” is a single recorded by the rap duo sub-unit of BIGBANG “GD x TOP.” It was released alongside “Let’s not fall in love” as a single album “E,” the last part of the “Made” series.

Let’s not fall in love

“Let’s not fall in love” was the other single from BIGBANG’s 7th single album “E,” which was released along with “Zutter” on August 5, 2015. Members of the group performed acting in the music video with female models and actors.

This parody video of “Let’s not fall in love” was posted on the YouTube channel “Satya Parody.” The fact that children, four girls and four boys, were cast in the video makes it the cutest rendition of the music video.

Still life

BIGBANG made a return to the music industry after four years with their latest release, “Still Life.” The song was released on April 5, 2022. “Still life” made BIGBANG the one and only Boy group to achieve “Perfect All Kill” in 2022.

Famous Japanese comedian Tsukasa Saito created this parody of "Still life" and uploaded it on his YouTube channel.

Psick Univ is a popular YouTube channel of famous South Korean comedians Lee Yong Joo and Jung Jae Hyun, and Kim Min Soo. Taeyang is known to be a fan of this channel. They released a parody version of “Still life.”

A South Korean YouTube channel, “Kittisaurus,” which makes videos featuring cats, posted a fun, cute cat version parody of “Still Life” on their channel.

K-Pop is in the era of the fourth-generation, where parodies are not a great deal like they used to be. There are still parodies of new K-Pop music videos on YouTube, but those are very limited in numbers. Veteran K-Pop fans crave for some of these creative parodies and want them back.
