Netmarble has decided to discontinue the development of 'BTS Dream: TinyTAN House', the company's latest BTS-affiliated game in collaboration with HYBE Labels.
'BTS Dream: TinyTAN House' is a game featuring BTS's TinyTAN characters, combining the challenge of rhythm games with home-developing. The game was previously promoted as a game through which fans could interact closely with the TinyTAN members themselves.
According to Netmarble, "We've conducted numerous beta tests in Canada, Thailand, and other countries, and found that there was a significant gap between the preferences of the fans of BTS and ordinary users. As we did not acquire results in line with of our plans, we have decided to discontinue further development of the game after discussing the findings with HYBE Labels."
Currently, HYBE Labels and Netmarble have introduced 3 BTS-affiliated mobile games: 'BTS Island: In the SEOM', 'BTS World', and 'BTS Universe Story'. With development of 'BTS Dream: TinyTAN House' falling through, it's believed that Netmarble will move on to the next project featuring BTS, currently only known by its name "Project B".
According to media outlet reports, "Project B" is a game featuring the members of TinyTAN as well as cooking simulations.
In response to the above report, a representative of HYBE Labels quickly stated, "We will announce any new updates at a more appropriate time."
The theme is probably it and the target demographic. BT21 is a hit because it attracts a certain demographic within and outside of the fandom, i.e., the alter-egos appeal to more people regardless, whether they're BTS fans or not.
