tvN's new historical black comedy series 'The Queen's Umbrella' has released a set of character posters centered around the one and only queen, Kim Hye Soo.
First, in one poster, the queen exudes a controlled charisma as she stands at the forefront of a procession of the women of power inside the royal palace of Joseon. Kim Hye Soo leads the pack as Queen Hwa Ryung, while behind her, two of the king's favored royal consorts (played by Ok Ja Yeon and Kim Ga Eun) follow, each wearing curious expressions. Finally, the most powerful woman of the palace, the great queen dowager (played by Kim Hae Sook) commands a different kind of charisma and glare, dressed in hanbok of gold.
In the second poster, Queen Hwa Ryung transforms into a mother of three troublemaking princes, eyebrows furrowed in a doting way as prince Sung Nam (played by Moon Sang Min), prince Gye Sung (played by Yu Seon Ho), and prince Moo Ahn (played by Yoon Sang Hyun) surround her. In particular, the three princes also boast of noticeably different personalities, indicated in their postures, their facial expressions, etc.
How will the queen juggle the politics of the royal palace while managing her troublemaking sons? Find out when tvN's 'The Queen's Umbrella' premieres, next month on October 15 at 9:10 PM KST!
