On September 14, singer/actress Jung Chae Yeon dedicated a letter to fans, sharing her thoughts on her team DIA's disbandment after 7 years. DIA, who debuted on this day in 2015, recently released their final single "Rooting For You" earlier on September 14. As of today, the members of DIA will each go their separate ways.
Relaying her greetings via DIA's official fan cafe, Jung Chae Yeon wrote,
"To. AID.
Hello, this is Jung Chae Yeon.
(I'm just writing this now because it took me some time to recover after my surgery. I'm sorry about that. I can't use my arm, so unfortunately I can't write a letter by hand.. So I decided to write a few words here instead..)
September 14.. Every year when this day came around, we all laughed together, but today, my heart feels unsettled.
2015, at the age of 19, I debuted as a member of DIA met AID, and those days were like a dream to me. Because AID were always behind me, cheering me on and having faith in me, I was able to overcome even the most difficult times. I thank you, always. I was so happy these past 7 years, the years that AID shone brightly.
As a member with so many individual schedules.. AID, you were like a little bridge between me and the members. The reason I was never alone.. was because of our members who protected DIA until the end. I want to thank my members so so much, and I am always cheering you on. You worked so hard!
The staff and family at MBK who helped me meet my DIA members who are like siblings to me.. So much happened but everyone poured their hearts out during each moment, and thanks to those efforts, the members of DIA were able to sing on stage and gain unforgettable experiences. Thank you so much. To our staff who always made sure that we shined brightly, to our family and friends, none of this would have been possible without you. Thank you.
From here on, we all intend to have courage and begin our individual journeys on new paths. Please watch over us and cheer us on so that we can each shine in our respective paths. Even if I say that we will be promoting individually, you know that DIA will never be gone, right? DIA will always live on in the hearts of AID. Let's continue to take one step at a time together.
I'll always be by your side.
Yours truly, DIA's Chae Yeon."
Meanwhile, Jung Chae Yeon previously underwent collarbone surgery on September 13, after sustaining a fracture on the filming set of MBC's 'The Golden Spoon'.
I wish all DIA members the best
