Jimin's 'LIE' continues to prove to be a timeless masterpiece as events around the world are still featuring the song 6 years after its release

All of Jimin's solo songs, both under BTS' discography and under his name, have enjoyed immense global popularity among the masses and success on various music charts ever since their release, even though they are all unpromoted tracks and he is yet to make an official solo debut. Just a while back, South Korean media published an article on Jimin as the BTS member whose solo songs are not only the most popular but have also maintained steady popularity globally, and this can be seen from the different instances where his solo songs are either mentioned, played or covered by different artists, radio and TV shows, dance academies, music executives and different media publications globally.

Jimin has always been at the forefront in anything music and performing, and even though time continues to pass, his songs remain to be timeless masterpieces that are constantly referenced by different artists and featured in major events worldwide.

'LIE,' released in 2016, is among the most referenced songs of his, having been covered uncountable times by rookie idols who seek to prove their capabilities as dancers and performers. In fact, covering the song has now commonly come to be called 'a rite of passage' for any rookie group main dancer as Jimin is considered to be the standard when it comes to performing! In addition, many singers cover the song because Jimin's vocal performance in the song sets him apart as one of the most admired vocalists, with his rich vocal color and range. In both attributes, Jimin made 'Lie' a masterpiece that transcends time, and this is why six years later, it is still getting featured and covered all around the world.

In the past few days, more incidents have come up where the song's popularity has been proven yet again. In one incident, A South Korean singer, Sunghoon, recently made a mash-up of Jimin's 'Lie' and 'Falling' by Alicia Keys on a Piano. The artist's label then posted this cover on its official Instagram page. Artists, both senior and junior, are proud to cover the song any time, and it speaks to its major impact on the world of music.

In a separate scenario, 'Lie' was again featured in the 2022 ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix in the Czech Republic. One of the contestants in the event, Julia Sylvia Gunnarsdottir, who is from Iceland, performed an impressive routine to the song.

Jimin's songs have extensively been covered by athletes in figure skating. In 2021, national champions and 2020 NHK Trophy gold medalists Misato and Takeru (Tim Koleto) Komatsubara performed an ice skating routine for "Filter." Below is a recount of the event and the performance.

The performance was live broadcast by TBS on the third day of "Stars On Ice 2021" Japan tour, an ice skating show. The performer, Tim Koleto, confessed to having been inspired by Jimin's Muster outfit!
