On August 23 KST, an image of BTS's V and BLACKPINK's Jennie circulated online by the now-suspended Twitter account @gurumiharibo, causing a heated debate about whether the photo was edited or not. Then On August 25 KST, a new photo showing Jennie and V allegedly at V's home was shared online by the same Twitter user. This also triggered a heated debate among fans and netizens as they discussed if the photos were edited or not.

Many netizens had a difficult time finding the original/source photos that had been used for the allegedly edited photo of Jennie and V together. This led many to think that the photos could be real photos of Jennie and V. After a lengthy search, fans finally found photos that they thought were used as the source material. However, K-Netizens are reacting with skepticism and aren't buying it as they left their thoughts on the popular online community Pann Nate.

However, K-netizens aren't buying it. K-Netizens commented,

"Army-ya, stop... this is embarrassing", "The hand holding Jennie’s phone and the corner of her mouth are different, who are you trying to fool?", "Oh really... that looks so desperate," "ARMY, are you serious?", "V's fangirls are crying," "Are V's fans visually impaired? Photos are completely different", and "The fans are fooling themselves again."
