According to the Seoul Central District Court on August 19, a male assailant 'A' (26) has been sentenced to probation for threatening his ex-girlfriend 'B' with a weapon.
'A', who is said to be a former contestant on the Mnet survival program 'Produce 101' season 2, broke into the home of 'B' some time in October of last year. 'B', who was 'A's girlfriend at the time, refused to meet 'A'. As a result, 'A' broke into 'B's home through the balcony. 'A' then wrapped his arms around 'B's neck and dragged her into the living room, then grabbed a small knife from the kitchen, using the weapon to demand that 'B' continue her relationship with 'A'. When 'B' refused, 'A' choked 'B's throat. The neighbors heard 'B's screams and called the police.
The Seoul Central District Court concluded, "The victim suffered immense shock and pain from this incident, and has not forgiven 'A' for his actions. However, the defendant confessed to his crimes, which are believed to have been committed impulsively."
'A', who was charged and found guilty of breaking into the home of 'B', inflicting bodily harm, and threatening with the use of a weapon, has been sentenced to 1 year in prison if he commits the same crime within a probationary period of 2 years. 'A' will also be under protective supervision for 1 year, and must complete 80 hours of community service.
Assault with a knife and he's not going to prison? Does SK even care if people get killed?
