Netizens are impressed by TripleS member Kim Yooyeon's confident answer to a question about her university.
Kim Yooyeon was recently announced as a member of the 24-member girl group TripleS.
Prior to joining the group, she was a university student studying at the prestigious university, 'Ewha Women's University' studying Science Education. Her parents are a Doctor and a Pharmacist, so naturally, their goal for their daughter was to have a career in medicine. However, her forever dream was to become a K-pop Idol. Her parents were against the idea of becoming an idol, but Yooyeon wanted to pursue her dreams and not her parent's dreams.
She became a contestant on the MBC survival show 'My Teenage Girl' and placed 8th in the final episode, unable to make her debut as an idol.
When she was announced to become a member of Triple S on July 15, many netizens and fans were immediately worried and wondered about her situation with leaving university to become an idol.
During a recent live stream, Yooyeon responded to the concerns.
Q. "Is it worth it?"
"I actually have something to say about this, I don't have any regrets of what I already have.. If i wanted to go back to university again, I could, even if i dropped out again, I can retake the SAT exam. I don't know why you guys are so worried about me, you really don't have to be."
The response went viral and left a positive impression on netizens for her strong mind and confident response to reassure the fan's worries.
Some responses include:
"It's cool to have a belief," "Yooyeon's parents are doctors, we don't need to worry," "Everyone says they are happy, but you are amazing, I will support your debut."
What are your thoughts on Yooyeon's response?
She's a smart girl so even if this idol thing doesn't work out, she can go back to school. But I'm glad she got in because her parents were not that supportive. Just wish it was a smaller group. I hope she gets to see the Class:y girls soon.
