According to media outlet reports on July 13, Kang Dong Won's appearance in the Hollywood film 'Tsunami LA' has fallen through due to COVID-19.
Previously, it was confirmed that Kang Dong Won had begun preparing for his Hollywood film debut in 'Tsunami LA', directed by Simon West and scripted by Scott Windhauser. Kang Dong Won was cast in the role of an aquarium employee/surfer in the disaster film, about the biggest tsunami in history to hit the city of Los Angeles. Soon after wrapping up filming for 'Illang: The Wolf Brigade' in early 2018, Kang Dong Won began taking surfing and English lessons to prepare for his role. The actor continued to build up his surfing and English lessons for the past 2~3 years.
However, due to COVID-19 related reasons, the production of 'Tsunami LA' has now been halted indefinitely, media outlet reports claimed. It looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see Kang Dong Won making his Hollywood debut.
I feel so bad for him, spending 3 years studying English and surfing lessons for the coveted role of "aquarium employee", maybe he stuck it out because the director was Simon West
