Former April member Chaewon claimed she's innocent and shared a case brief.
On July 7th, Chaewon posted on her YouTube channel's community updating her fans on the lawsuit against her former group mate Lee Hyunjoo. She wrote:
"Hello, this is Kim Chaewon. I'm updating you regarding investigation results who have been waiting by my side through hard times. The final verdict was to be dismissed.
-----------------------------
[Summary of the case]
False information 1. Claims regarding 'ostracizing within the group' cannot be determined true or false although there were general relational issues as humans since there was no evidence to prove the claim beyond the reasonable doubt.
False information 2. Claims regarding 'driving a wedge between members' cannot be verified due to the subjectivity of human perception.
False information 3. A claim regarding 'dating a manager' was confirmed as false information as everyone involved denied the claim, as well as two managers who the accuser accused.
------------------------------------
As I've already said in a video I won't be pursuing further legal action. My stance on my rumors is that I have nothing to lie about and I am confident about it. I will be greeting you with a variety of activities and good music from now on. I am once again sorry for causing concerns to my fans."
Meanwhile, April announced the disbandment this past January following the bullying controversy. Chaewon parted ways with DSP Media on February 11th and has been communicating with her fans through her YouTube channel.
It concluded in the way I thought it would, cases like these are subjective to the way different individuals saw and felt the same things, which are valid. I remember writing something as simple as this: "you saw yourself being left out, we saw you as drifting away". It's not always clear and sometimes no one is in the wrong. I hadn't heard about the whole manager rumor though.
I still believe their company handled it terribly, when they should have been helping they were almost self sabotaging by failing to double check before releasing information, it always made the girls look in the wrong.
