On July 28, global boy band GOT7 member BamBam attended a press conference ahead of his 'B' fan signing event in Manila. Fans from the ground floor to the fourth floor of Ayala Malls Manila Bay erupted in cheers when BamBam took the stage. With all of the commotion, BamBam was seen grinning from ear to ear as he saw his fans who had been waiting to see him in person.
Prior to his fan signing event in Manila, BamBam traveled to Cebu to meet and greet his fans, where thousands of fans flocked to see the global star.
When asked what sound he wants to explore on his next album, BamBam said, "Oh...my next album... I cannot spoil it," but then spoke a little bit about what his next album is about, saying, "It's not so bright." Regarding the role he would like to portray if he had the chance to act, BamBam remarked that he's not good in it, but he would probably give a bad boy/playboy role a try.
BamBam then responded to every question sent by allkpop. When asked if there is anything on his bucket list that he would like to do in the Philippines, BamBam responded, "I really like to go to the beach and night market." On the most significant change in his career thus far, from debuting in global boy band GOT7 to releasing his latest album 'B' as a solo artist, BamBam responded, "[Being a part of GOT7] changed my life. It changed me and the way I think, and it also changed the people around me, my family, and my friends." When the host asked if BamBam had changed for the better, BamBam smiled and said, "I hope so."
When asked if the massive success of his mini-album has put any additional pressure on what he'll deliver next, BamBam responded, "Actually, not really." He added, "I hope I can have a concert in the Philippines. I want to perform in front of you." BamBam stated, for the rest of 2022, "I hope I can stay healthy and happy until the end of the year."
BamBam also stated that if given a chance, he would love to work with Filipino-Australian singer James Reid. "I was so excited," BamBam says of his experience being the first K-Pop idol to perform at the National Basketball Association Halftime Show. "I don't think I'm super tall or super short; when I go to Korea, I think [my height is] basic height; when I go to the NBA, I feel like a little baby," he added.
Regarding the most challenging aspect of producing his second mini-album, 'B,' BamBam replied, "I think it was the time." He also stated that when preparing for his first album, 'riBBon,' he had a lot of time, and his schedule was not as hectic. He had a lot of schedules for his most recent one, but he's glad he finished it before the deadline.
When asked who among his fellow GOT7 members he seeks advice from, BamBam replied, "I don't let my members listen to my solo songs." When asked why, he said, "Because they're going to steal my idea." (laughs) He also revealed that "Pandora" should've been the title track of 'riBBon,' and when Yugyeom sent his solo music to BamBam, he said, "Oh. The concept is the same. Okay, I need to change."
"I feel really good. I've been waiting to perform for so long," BamBam remarked. "...It's been two years [of the pandemic] without meeting everyone, and I just stay home with my cat," he added "I'm happy that everything almost came back to normal. Today, I think, is a special day. Thank you."
"I think 'riBBon.' All the lyrics are displaying my personality," BamBam said when asked which song best represents him. Regarding what he usually does to calm down before going on stage for a show, BamBam replied, "I'm drinking Red Bull."
Following the press conference, BamBam met with his fans up close, and some lucky ones were able to have a conversation with him at his 'B' fan signing event, where there were intriguing scenes and interactions between the idol and his fans.
Meanwhile, 'B' is bamBam's second mini-album which features two title songs: "Who Are You (featuring Seulgi of Red Velvet)" and "Slow Mo."
