Apink's CHOBOM (Chorong and Bomi) showed new charm and synergy with their 1st Single album, "Copycat," in the August issue of Elle Magazine.
Chorong and Bomi, who were invited to feature in the pet special of the August issue of Elle Korea, had a special time to tell the story behind their continuous activities to protect abandoned dogs, such as temporary protection and volunteer work.
It is no wonder that Elle chose members of Apink for this pictorial. Apink members, who are known for their amazing Music and Teamwork, are also known for their participation in several volunteer activities, helping abandoned animals, etc. Even though the members do not publicize this, it is well known among their fandom and k-pop community about their efforts to help animals.
Chorong & Bomi fostered abandoned dogs four times. Apink's Namjoo also works hard to find shelters for abandoned dogs and still continues to do so. Bomi's current pet dog 'Sugar' was also an abandoned dog that she fostered(along with Chorong) and later adopted the dog herself. Through her YouTube channel, she also called out for Volunteers several times.
In the published pictorial, Chorong and Bomi added a stylish charm with a mini dress with a bright color that catches the eye at a glance and a knit bucket hat on the top and completed a dazzling visual with a lovely smile that you can't take your eyes off. In addition, it is said that the two completed a more meaningful pictorial by drawing pictures of Bomi's dog, Sugar, and Soongnyung, who was temporarily fostered and delivered a message to protect abandoned dogs with their own handwriting.
After the photo shoot, an interview was held. When asked what she had learned firsthand through her steady volunteer work, Bomi said, "It broke my heart to know that adoption is really difficult if you have an old dog or a disability." "Sometimes I want to be more famous because I want to tell more of these things," she said, expressing her extraordinary convictions. Chorong also said, "Most of the dogs that people have abandoned dramatically are disabled. Short noses make them unable to breathe well, and gallbladder dislocation is a genetic disease. Once you know that, you can't just see it as cute," she said.
They also showed special affection for each other. Regarding the friendship between the two, Bomi said, "My sister is the oldest in the team, and I am the second oldest, so whenever the leader role seems a little overwhelming, I thought I should share the weight and carry it. I think it's great to be next to each other when we're having a hard time." Chorong then said, "When I was having a hard time, Bomi gave me a book and wrote me a letter, and I was really grateful and reassured." It's also cool to act for what you believe is right," she said, expressing her affection for Bomi.
As for what they want to say to their juniors who dream of becoming a "long-term idol" while watching Apink, which marks its 11th anniversary, they both said, "Conversation is important." Chorong emphasized "to say 'thank you' and 'sorry' to each other often," and Bomi said, "It is also important to respect each other's time." There will also be independent members," she added, showing a mature side.
