According to media outlet reports on June 17, MBC has begun discussions to resume the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship'.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship' aired as an annual event during South Korea's Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays. A family sports variety, the program invites K-Pop idols to compete in various sports categories such as track and field, archery, wrestling, e-sports, etc.
One representative of MBC commented, "It's true that discussions have begun for the return of the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship'. However, more specific details have yet to be developed."
The last time MBC hosted the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship' was during the Lunar New Year holidays in 2020.
