Netflix revealed the still cuts for the upcoming series 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area' and showed the new masks that will represent the Korean 'Money Heist.'
On May 4, Netflix Korea revealed the still cuts showing the new 'Hahoetal' masks that will be used for the Korean series in place of the 'Dali Mask' that was seen in the original.
'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area,' is a Netflix series depicting an unprecedented hostage robbery in the background of the unification of the Korean Peninsula, where genius strategists and robbers with different personalities and abilities fight against extraordinary variables.
The still cuts revealed more detailed photos of the mask and the heist group that will be aiming to steal the largest sum of money in the Korean peninsula.
The 'Hahoetal' gives off a vastly different vibe from the original masks seen in 'Money Heist' but still displays the mystery and horror of the money heist group.
However, there are divided opinions over the new masks that are seen in the still cuts. While many Korean netizens love the new masks, there are a handful of netizens who criticized that the 'Hahoetal' looks too friendly.
Netizens commented, "They're using the Hahoetal? Looks cool," "I'm really excited! the Hahoetal is so perfect," "I'm so excited for this show," "I'm really excited," "When I look at the masks, they don't look scary, the Hahoetal is so friendly, feel like we can play tag," "I think they changed the Hahoetal design a bit. They could have used the traditional brown wood ones," "They should wear hanboks with that mask, lol," and "I wish they could have used another traditional mask that was scarier. I think there are scarier-looking Korean traditional masks."
1) remaking such a famous show less than a year after it ended is just stupid.
2) these masks make me see them as "clowns" some how. I can't take them seriously as robbers because the masks are smiling too much haha
