According to financial news outlets on May 4, HYBE Labels has reported an operating profit of 37 billion KRW (~ $29.4 million USD) for the first quarter of 2022. This marks an increase of 62.7% from last year's first quarter operating profits.
Additionally, HYBE Labels has reported a total sales amount of 258 billion KRW (~ $205 million USD) in the same quarter, an increase of 59.8% from 2021.
Sales earned from albums and concerts (including online concerts) made up 54% of the total sales amount for the first quarter of 2022, with BTS's 'Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul' taking place in March. In total, HYBE Labels reported a total sales of 61.3 billion KRW (~ $49 million USD) from BTS's concerts and performances.
Meanwhile, HYBE Labels is expected to see a major increase in album sales in the second quarter of 2022, with TOMORROW x TOGETHER and Seventeen gearing up for their comebacks this month, and BTS releasing their new album on June 10. HYBE's newest team LE SSERAFIM will also be contributing to album sales in the second quarter, after their debut mini album 'FEARLESS' reported a pre-order sales record of over 380,000 copies prior to its release.
