Netizens are wondering if four members for a girl group raises the probability for success.
On an online community forum, a netizen made a post expressing that four members is the best combination for girl groups, "seeing how successful BLACKPINK and aespa are."
Under the post, comments agreed that "having fewer members is definitely better than having too many," and that other examples of successful 4-member girl groups also include SISTAR, 2NE1, and Brave Girls.
Even some fans whose bias group had many members acknowledged that having fewer members would be beneficial. On the other hand, others commented that number "does not matter" as long as the group is good at what they do.
Meanwhile, a netizen wrote that "four members is a small, even number," which creates a good "balance." Other comments include: "[Four members] definitely creates an aura," and that having fewer members is better for line distributions and structuring the choreography.
However, a netizen pointed out that having four members could be an issue if one of them potentially leaves the group. Furthermore, netizens also expressed that having a maximum of six or seven members, considering some successful rookie groups from this year, would be an ideal number.
Do you think 4 is an ideal number of members for a girl group?
BP and Aespa success is because they are from the big 3, not because they have 4 members.
