China has long proven to be another "TaeTaeland," and Kim Taehyung's unwavering popularity in the country is once again demonstrated in the 1st week's sales of BTS's upcoming anthology album "Proof."
In just one week, V's biggest Chinese fan club, "China Baidu VBar," recorded 71,724 combined album sales of the Standard and Compact edition of "Proof," costing $1,638,026.12. This made up 39.3% of the total sales volume and 38% of the total sales of "Proof" in the country.
Following in second place are the OT7 Fansites, which had 39,620 sales amounting to $1,112,062.64. The third is "Jungkook China," with 35,245 sales priced at $757,228.24.
Back in 2020, Taehyung also showed his supremacy in China after Vbar was leading in sales, not just among fandoms of individual BTS members but in all K-pop fandoms in the country. They recorded the highest sales for both "Map of the Soul:Persona" and "Map of the Soul:7" albums.
No doubt Taehyung is aware of his massive popularity in China and the various charitable and extravagant projects they do for him every year. He has excited his fans by reciprocating the love they have shown to him on multiple occasions.
The most recent example was during BTS's "Permission to Dance on Stage" Las Vegas concerts when Taehyung posted Vbar's concert project outside Allegiant Stadium on his Instagram story.
Another occasion was during Taehyung's 26th birthday when he visited VBar's showcase on Shinchon streets, which consisted of a giant Taehyung doll and walls exhibiting his music and artistry. He also shared the experience on his Instagram story.
The most popular idol in the biggest country in the world. That's our Taehyungie.
