Have you ever had that feeling after watching a drama where you just felt like something fell short?
Maybe it was the plot or the cast? Whatever it is, while binging on dramas, we come across those that we wish were revamped one way or another. Luckily for you, here are five K-dramas fans wish to see a remake of along with the dream cast.
1. Goong (Princess Hours): Originally starring Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon, "Goong" centers around the arranged marriage between Crown Prince Shin and his new bride, Chae-Kyeong, to rule as a monarchy within the 21st Century. Based on the hit graphic novel "Goong" by Park So Hee, this drama was televised back in 2006 and rapidly gained popularity due to the funny banter between the cold-hearted Crown Prince Shin and the bubbly extrovert Chae-Kyeong. Known for their banter in "The Business Proposal," none other than Ahn Hyo Seob and Kim Se Jung would fit these roles perfectly. Ahn Hyo Seob can flawlessly pull off the tsundere role, and Kim Se Jung, with her naturally bright personality, is the epitome of Chae-Kyung.
2. My Name is Kim Sam Soon: This drama was a game-changer due to the love story that involved a significant age gap between the characters and the actors themselves. Following the story of a patissier named Kim Sam Soon, acted out by Kim Sun Ah, who in her thirties is constantly teased about her weight and single status, and the suave bakery owner, Jin Heon, played by Hyun Bin, through a fateful encounter end up falling in love. Known for capturing the hearts of women, especially older women, Jung Hae In would fit the role of Jin Heon perfectly, and it'd be interesting to see his chemistry with Lee Jeong Eun, who is known for her various roles as older women in "Parasite" and "Our Blues."
3. Coffee Prince: The smell of coffee brewing brings back memories, memories of the infamous story of a woman who goes under disguise as a man to gain employment and a young food empire CEO, and the romance that blooms once they meet. Starring Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, Coffee Prince brought so much laughter to viewers. But it was not just the chemistry between the main leads but also the supporting roles of the three other employees within the coffee shop that made this drama such a huge success. While the original actors played their roles well, it'd be great to see Kim Soo Hyun be the main lead alongside Lee Min Jung. Kim Soo Hyun is known to take on vastly different roles and portray them well, while Lee Min Jung could pull off the tomboy aura. It'd also be great to see Kim Jae Wook play his initial role as Noh Sun-Ki, Kang Ha Neul as Jin Ha Rim, and Tang Jun Sang as Hwang Min Yeop.
4. Flower Boy Ramen Shop: The drama that made viewers crave ramen like no other, taking over her father's ramen restaurant Yang Eun-Bi played by Lee Chung Ah, gets caught in a whirlwind of romance with Cha Chi Soo, whom she mistakes as a wealthy CEO. The twist? Cha Chi Soo is not a rich CEO but a spoiled, bratty high school student. So who'd fit the roles of Cha Chi Soo and Yang Eun-Bi, along with the supporting roles of the workers within the ramen shop? It'd be great to see Kim Seon Ho play a bratty high school student alongside Kim Ji Won. Aside from these two, Kwak Do Yeon fits right into the role of Eun-Bi's younger brother, Nam Joo Hyuk with his calm persona would have no problem pulling off the role for Choi Kang Hyuk, and it'd be great to see the friendship between Hwang In Yeop and Lee Shin Young as they follow Cha Chi Soo in his ramen adventures.
5. Full House: Fraud, scandals, and betrayal of best friends; how can things get any worse? By being tied down into an unexpected marriage with a top actor. Starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo, "Full House" is a fanfiction made into a reality. Falling into the deceptive plans of her best friends, Han Ji Eun (Song Hye Kyo) takes a trip abroad, but while on the plane, she coincidentally ends up being seated next to Lee Yeong Jae (Rain), and let's just say that it is where their fateful romance begins. Revamp this drama to 2022, and it'd be great to see Park Seo Joon take the role of top star Lee Yeong Jae and his counterpart Han Ji-Eun can be played by Jeon Yeo Bin.
With so many K-dramas to binge on these days, let us know what are some drama remakes that you'd want to see, along with who you'd cast into those dramas!
I think you "could" remake all of them but i`m not sure you should...if really pushed i`d say Goong would maybe be a good idea and possibly Flower Boy Ramen Shop(as it has an unclear ending) and i just wouldn't touch the others as way to many fans would be against it...
