The transition committee of the president-elect will be meeting with CEOs of SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, HYBE Label, and more to discuss supporting popular music.
According to media reports, the transition committee of the president-elect will be meeting with HYBE Label, SM, JYP, and MNH Entertainment CEOs, as well as representatives of an independent music association on April 4th at 3 PM KST.
The committee plans to discuss ways to support popular music, including building infrastructure and systems to promote the industry. Further, it plans to discuss legal and administrative changes that are necessary to further promote the globalization of K-Pop.
However, the committee drew a line regarding the exemption of mandatory military services for qualifying male artists, once again confirming that nothing about BTS's exemption from mandatory military service was discussed during their visit on April 2nd.
The committee explained that this meeting's purpose is to develop a more practical government agenda that could help advance Korea as a cultural powerhouse.
