Kim Tae Ri garnered much attention after saying that she had never liked anyone.
On April 4, an interview with Kim Tae Ri, who had recently starred in the popular drama 'Twenty-Five Twenty-One' with Nam Joo Hyuk, was released.
During the interview, Kim Tae Ri confessed that she had not had her first love even at the age of 31.
When she was asked, "Do you express your feelings openly when you like someone?" to which Kim Tae Ri explained, "I never had a first love yet that I could say that I liked until now."
The actress explained that she isn't romantic and does not have any romance seen in the dramas.
She continued to explain, "I never liked anyone. It's to the point that I worry that I might not meet anyone like that for the rest of my life."
Kim Tae Ri explained she wants to meet someone that she likes passionately, like Na Hee Do from the drama. The actress explained, "I wish someone like that appears."
She then went on to say that she will tell the person she likes, "I have to have you," just like her character in the drama.
The actress also explained that acting is the catalyst in her life. She explained, "There are moments that I enjoy while acting. I'm so happy to the point of crying and it's fun. I do not want to lose this. I really hope that I can keep this job for a long time."
As someone who is aromantic, i relate to her a lot. Before realizing that I was aromantic, or even knew it was a thing, I would always think something was wrong with me because I hadn't had a crush or wanted to date like my other peers. It got to the point that I would brainwash myself into believing I had a crush on someone just because "they are well liked, so why not have one on them?" or "Wow, this kid that I absolutely despise is really good at math, so I'll pick him". Rember that life isn't a one size fits all kind of deal. It's okay to not like others romantically, and it's okay if you haven't met the one yet. We as a society need to stop stressing this notion of "you need to get married now or you'll be miserable and die alone". I just hope everyone can live a life that they envisioned for themselves.
