BTS continues to raise awareness of Korean culture in response to China's ongoing cultural appropriation.
On April 8th, BTS colored the city of Las Vegas in purple as they performed the very first show on Friday night. On top of their stunning performances, the group has also installed many pop-up experiences for their fans to enjoy before and after the shows.
Hanbok zone is one of the experiences at the venue where anyone could try on Korean traditional clothes and take pictures, as well as purchase souvenirs related to it.
This was a collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization to raise awareness of Korean culture and to encourage tourists to visit Korea. BTS's Hanbok zone is gaining much attention online as there is an ongoing China's cultural appropriation of Hanbok, claiming it originated from Hanfu.
Meanwhile, BTS will continue with their shows in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium for three more days on April 9th, 15th, and 16th. The group will live stream the last day of their concert for ARMYs who couldn't travel to watch their performances in person, which can be purchased online on Weverse shop.
That's wonderful! Many of my Non-Korean friends love Korean culture, and I'm sure they would try on Hanbok and take pictures!
