Korea is reminiscent! Things that were popular in the past are becoming popular and trendy again, hence the "newtro" trend. This applies to not only fashion and trends in general, but music as well! People have been streaming music released in the 2000s and early 2010s lately, as they miss the sound, emotion, and vibes it delivered.

Most recently, Yoo Jae Suk's "How Do You Play" recently hosted the Dotori Festival, which invited singers that had tracks that were popular on the social media platform "Cyworld." Cyworld was the dominant social media platform in Korea in the mid to late 2000s, as well as early 2010s, until Facebook took over. Users would have to purchase songs for their profile with "dotori," which means acorns in English. It was overall a very cute and unique concept that worked well for Koreans. 

Fast forward a decade later, Cyworld ended up closing their platform due to low usage; however, they RECENTLY revived the platform, and because of this, "How Do You Play" thought it would be a perfect opportunity to showcase the songs that shined the Cyworld era!
