Lately, rapper Changmo has been at the center of a controversy over an insensible statement he made on his Instagram story.
On February 7, Changmo posted a photo on his Instagram story with the caption, "Losers are typically under 180 (cm 5'11" tall) and can't earn money." He also uploaded other photos with the caption, "Men and women shouldn't fight, please," and a photo of a Ferrari with the caption, "Everyone should just live without comparing yourself to others. Well, I'm not going to go sell this!"
The rapper also posted a photo of the Gyeongbokgung Palace and wrote, "I hate Joseon (era) but this is cool."
As soon as the posts were made, the photos quickly spread in various online communities. Netizens criticized his remarks, saying, "He's speaking whatever just because he's going to the army," "Is this what people call hip hop?" "Changmo dissed me out of the blue," and "I hope he's joking."
Meanwhile, Changmo announced through his Instagram last month that he will be enlisting in the mandatory military service. He explained, "I will be enlisting in the military next year (2022). When I enter, I really want to overcome my alcohol dependency."
