According to industry insiders, the production staff of Mnet's new girl group competition series 'Queendom' season 2 recently met up with girl groups ITZY, Brave Girls, Kep1er, and VIVIZ.
While the appearance of these four groups on 'Queendom 2' is currently not confirmed, insiders have reported that Mnet is now in the final stages of negotiating various details in order to finalize the show's lineup.
The first official filming for 'Queendom 2' is expected to take place in mid-February, with the program premiering next month in mid-March. The second season of 'Queendom' will be hosted by Girls' Generation's Taeyeon.

[UPDATE] Mnet has now issued the following in response to the above report: "It's true that we have contacted many girl groups; however, nothing is currently confirmed."

No offence but this is a boring lineup. These are all groups that are currently the center of attention in Korea. In Queendom you had groups varying in popularity (and honestly in the original concept that included April and gugudan you had even more lesser known groups) which made the show interesting as you discovered new talent with each performance. Queendom brought popularity back to groups that were fading away (AOA, Lovelyz, Park Bom) while all the participants so far still have that fame. There are no underdogs to cheer for or groups to dicover because we’ve seen em all recently. That’s just my 2 cents
