BLACKPINK member Jisoo was once asked to lend her voice for a 'Snowdrop' OST, but declined it.
In Jisoo's recent voice VLive, she revealed why she didn't take the chance to sing for one of the original soundtracks of 'Snowdrop,' for which she plays as one of the lead actresses of the series.
Jisoo said, "I was asked to sing for the OST of 'Snowdrop,' but I said 'no' because I thought if I lend my voice and it came out as a song, the viewers wouldn't be able to focus on the drama." "I wanted Young-ro [character played by Jisoo] to be known as Young-ro only. The directors then respected my opinion," she added.
Jisoo was supposed to sing the second original soundtrack 'Friend' for the JTBC's television series 'Snowdrop.'
I get her point. I'm sure there are many examples of someone being part of an OST while also acting in the very same drama at once. If there's a scene where Jisoo's character is onscreen and her song plays, people may be simultaneously acknowledging that the song is Jisoo's but not be completely absorbed by her performance as a result.
Another reason why I think it was a good reason that she declined is that she could be saving her first song for her own promotional single and not for the OST.
