2AM's Jo Kwon personally updated fans on his recovery from COVID-19.
On February 16, 2AM member Jo Kwon wrote on his personal Instagram to update his fans of his recovery from COVID-19, after completing his quarantine. In particular, Jo Kwon revealed that he experienced a loss of taste and smell as part of his symptoms from COVID-19.
Below is Jo Kwon's message, which he personally translated:
"7 days of self-isolation is done...
You were all worried, right?
After seven days of quarantine, I have returned in a healthy state.
From the swine flu to this new virus, whether it is Corona or Omicron outbreak, I get infected by them without exception.
More than anything else, it was a very sad day for me to be confirmed COVID positive, especially for the fans who have been looking forward to our 2am concert more than anyone in 9 years.
Fortunately, I didn’t have a fever, but I suffered a little from a sore throat and loss of taste for a few days since I was confirmed for COVID.
In particular, not being able to smell and taste was the most painful thing.
I felt like Jang Geum (a K-drama character of Dae Jang Geum who could not feel smell and taste) for a moment.
But thanks to our 2am members' love, Cube family, friends, and fans, I feel as fit as a fiddle.
I realize once again that feeling the taste 🙏🏻 is so precious because of being deceived by familiarity
Let’s meet again in good health.
Because we worked really hard for the concert!
Above all, your health is the most important thing. 😃 "
