In the TV CHOSUN global K-POP audition program "Tomorrow's National Singer," OH MY GIRL's Hyojung, a master panelist of the show, sheds tears as she revealed her friendship with former "Produce X 101" participant Kim Kook Heon.
Kim Kook Heon is currently an idol under The Music Works. He previously debuted as a member of MYTEEN in 2017. After debuting, he appeared as a contestant on the show MIXNINE where he ranked 18th. In 2019 it was announced that MYTEEN would disband. Afterward, he debuted as a duo with Song Yuvin under the name B.O.Y.
Kim Kook Heon was also a competitor on "Produce X 101." He ranked #21 on episode 11 and was eliminated. However, due to the Mnet Vote Manipulation, it was revealed that Kook Heon was eliminated when he shouldn't have been. It is not known what his actual rank was supposed to be when he was eliminated, but because Mnet had changed his votes to eliminate him, unfortunately, he did not make it to the debut group.
Kim Kook Heon shared that he developed a lot of trauma after the show ended, confessing, " I went through a lot of pain during the audition. I was still stuck in the past during the past few months. I thought of giving up my desire to perform. However, I still wanted to be a singer, so I decided to take on the challenge again."
In the "Tomorrow's National Singer" audition, Kim Kook Heon selected Taeyang's "Only Look At Me" and performed both singing and dancing, but because he was out of breath, the scores were a bit low.
After the performance OH MY GIRL's Hyojung, as she began to say her opinion, She started to cry, explaining "Before the company where I am now, We were trainees together, He was a friend who couldn't dance at all," surprising the judges. She added, "I know he is a very passionate and hard-working friend. A friend who is stronger than anyone else, so even if the results aren't good here, It'll be fine. I believe he'll continue to do well and I will keep supporting him."
