K-indie artist ALEPH releases tribute song 'HOPE' for j-hope and ARMY
K-indie artist ALEPH released his tribute song today entitled "HOPE" in special thanks to j-hope and ARMY’s all over the world.
The inspiration came from an occasion back in July 2018 when j-hope share a video of a picnic with him and fellow BTS member Jungkook:
In the background, ALEPH’s song “No One Told Me Why” could be heard. ALEPH was still an emerging artist at the time so was incredibly thankful for j-hope's support as well as increasing interest of his music through ARMYs.
Afterward, during an Instagram live, ALEPH said:
"It's an honor to be heard. Thanks to BTS and all of their fans. Thank you BTS"
Three years later, ALEPH continues to show his thanks and released a tribute song entitled "HOPE," derived from j-hope’s stage name and his vocation of spreading “hope” through music.
In advance of the song’s release, on 21 June 2021, ALEPH released a music teaser with the message:
"Tribute song to J-hope and Army. Thanks for recognizing my music when I started my career in music. It helped me to take a step further and continue to grow. Great respect to you. Peace and Love"
ARMY all around the world were excited about the song's release and waited in anticipation.
On July 8, 2021, the song was released at 12 PM KST on YouTube and Spotify/
The MV for the song employs creative use of animation and live-action through the medium of paper, evoking child-like innocence and hope for the world. Soft Images of the planet encased in loving hands, pleasant whales bobbing in the ocean, and the diversity of all human beings contrast with earth enclosed by a yellow plastic wrap and then bombarded with a torrent of disposable spoons. The blue paper whale is replaced by a white plastic counterpart - a grim reminder of the state of the world's oceans due to the pollution. Even so, ALEPH implores “HOPE” as a guide to a more positive and enlightening future where everyone works together for a cleaner environment and to save nature.
The final note of the MV returning to earth within the hands of humans, those who have the responsibility to protect it, and ALEPH’s closing message:
“Thanks to J-hope and ARMY
Love to my friends
Let’s share hope and save nature”
ALEPH’s vocals shine in his beautiful song and beautiful still is his message.
Both ARMY and J-hope appreciate this gift. Thank you Aleph
