BTS's long-awaited teaser for their new all-English single "Permission to Dance" was released today, and the song is set to be heard worldwide on July 9th through the Naver NOW platform.
With a duration of 33 seconds, the very first frame is owned by a newspaper in SUGA's hands, with the main title being "Our Life Goes On," referencing the main track of their latest studio album, "BE," from 2020. "Life Goes On" was all about how hard it was to be through a pandemic, how our dreams might have been broken, yet there is still hope for us to smile and forget this time. The cover of the newspaper is loaded with messages of hope and new future days, pointing out the year 2022, probably leaning to the possibility of a new world tour after almost three years.
SUGA's style, in a multicolor bandana braid and grey hair, necklaces on his long neck, and a white shirt are a huge part of the first seconds of the teaser. While smiling at the camera, he genuinely gets his way through the middle of the Bangtan Boys, dancing to the rhythm.
All of them are shown moving hips to a song that has a lot of "Butter" instrumental plus the melodies and beats corresponding to a whole new style, given exclusively to "Permission To Dance," the next top single that could easily beat "Butter" and even be the new owner for more weeks at the "Billboard Hot 100" chart, and all of the charts that comes with it.
Denim jackets, white shirts, and cowboy hats are the outfits of choice. With new hairstyles, each of them made their way to balance exactly two comebacks in less than 3 months, absolutely unbelievable! Clint Eastwood aesthetic and a little of country melodies, it won't be a surprise if the single has all of that in the MV. A Sunny day and a dry field is the platform to have a dance.
And the theories of a new worldwide tour can totally be true if we take a look at this frame, where Hoseok, shining a lot due to his mesmerizing beauty, is pointing out at signs, having names of countries and cities. In order, of course, the first one is their beloved Seoul, and under it, the most loyal fandom they could ask for. But next, we can see London (UK), San Francisco (USA), Moscow (RS), Egypt, Berlin (GRM), Kenya, and Paris (FR). It is known that BTS never includes things just for aesthetics, and certainly, they won't play around with geographical names, so we must wait for a huge announcement.
Until any other news, let's stream "Butter" and look forward to "Permission To Dance." As V said, "we don't need permission to dance"!
