BTS's Jungkook is known to have a multitude of talents, hence the nickname Golden Maknae. For starters, he is already above average in singing, dancing, and rapping. He's good at cinematography, too, and it's proven with his GCF series, which eventually led him to direct BTS's "Life Goes On" music video, which debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100. Another innate talent that Jungkook has and had many times shown is the talent in music-making.
Jungkook has had his fair share in producing, composing, and writing songs, be it BTS album songs or his own solo song. He is the main producer for BTS's "Magic Shop" and "Love Is Not Over,” which were released in 2018 and 2015, respectively, when he was a teenager. Jungkook also produced his smash-hit Soundcloud release "Still With You," which has become very popular among both fans and non-fans.
Jungkook had also composed and wrote an array of BTS's songs. His profile as a composer/songwriter had become more solid these recent years, especially after his compositions were chosen and accepted twice for two Japanese OSTs; "Your Eyes Tell" and "Film Out."
"Composer/Songwriter Jungkook" had achieved remarkable success so far, with a handful of his composed and written songs debuted on Billboard Hot 100 and acquired over 100 #1's on iTunes, among many other achievements.
Jungkook is credited as composer/songwriter for the following songs which had charted on Billboard Hot 100:
1. "My Time" - Jungkook is credited as co-writer for his solo song from "Maps of The Soul: 7," which debuted at #84, the highest entry for a BTS solo song on Billboard Hot 100.
2. "Stay" - originally intended for Jungkook's future mixtape, but it ended up being Jungkook, RM, and Jin's sub-unit song on the album 'BE.' It debuted at #22 on the chart, the highest entry for a BTS sub-unit song.
3. "Film Out" - Jungkook co-composed this Japanese OST with Iyori Shimizu from back number. It debuted at #81 on the chart, BTS's first-ever Japanese song and the first Japanese song in this century to debut on Billboard Hot 100.
4. "Telepathy" - Suga has the most contribution to this song, but Jungkook is also credited as co-composer/writer. It debuted at #70 on Billboard Hot 100.
Not only that, 3 of the songs composed and written by Jungkook had achieved #1 on iTunes in more than 100 countries; "My Time" (106 #1's), "Your Eyes Tell" (116 #1's), and "Film Out" (101 #1's). Currently, there are only 8 BTS songs which had achieved 100 #1's on iTunes, which makes this feat even more remarkable.
The success mentioned above is only the tip of the iceberg of the overall accomplishment achieved by the songs made by Jungkook. He had truly proved himself to be a talented song-maker if positive feedback from fans and the public and success on charts are anything to go by. Many are looking forward to his future work in music-making, which is why his mixtape is one of the most highly-anticipated solo debuts in the industry today.
