BTS' j-hope and Suzy celebrated Children's Day by donating to good causes.
South Korean citizens celebrate Children's Day as a national holiday on May 5 KST, and Suzy's label Management SOOP revealed the star donated 100 million Won ($89,200 USD) to aid children in orphanages and young adults who are no longer protected by child welfare institutions. Management SOOP stated, "Suzy donated 100 million Won to the Happy Sharing Taekwondo Federation in light of Children's Day."
j-hope also celebrated by making a donation to the child development organization ChildFund Korea. The org shared, "In light of Children's Day, j-hope donated 100 million Won for the support of children exposed to violence in Tanzania," revealing the donation will be used to fund a new One Stop Center. The center aids children in Tanzania in need by providing treatment, legal support, counseling, assistance in collecting evidence, and assistance in filing reports.
The BTS star commented, "Many people around the world are suffering from COVID-19. I decided to support children overseas after helping children here in the hopes that the warmth of sharing could reach them in all the nooks of the world."
