After an article released by INSIGHT KOREA highlighted the disappointment shown by some netizens on Oh My Girl Arin's lingerie Ads for BYC, many Koreans have voiced their support for the idol and criticized those who bashed her earlier.
Koreans, especially women took forums like THEQOO to express their anger at the misogyny and perverted mindset of those who wanted Arin to wear the garments to advertise them.
The post defending Arin trended on THEQOO with 93,197 views and received 2,111 comments, which were largely in favour of her.
Some comments were:
1. The target audience is 100% female so why are they feeling upset
2. So Ji Sub also did a bra advertisement, why do they get mad?
3. Are you a pervert? Why do you need shots of her wearing it?
4. If a male celebrity advertises sanitary napkins, should he wear sanitary napkins? Really ridiculous
5. I’m a client, but I don’t need shots of her wearing it. This advertisement is so interesting and good
6. We don’t need shots of her wearing it… Why are those that don’t wear getting mad
7. What are you saying? Your thoughts are dirty and disgusting
8. A bra advertisement just needs to show the bra. Why does she have to wear it?
9. No, women are consumers and they have no opinion, but why are men angry?
10. F*ck there’s all sorts of crazy people in the world
The consumer of the product as well as the advertiser seem content with Arin's Ad so why should men, who have no business with the undergarments that women wear, get to have any say, leave alone show disappointment?
Ditto! As a woman, I absolutely agree that I don't need to see her wearing it! The advertisements were perfectly fine the way they were. I'm shocked that people made an issue out of it. I have to ask though, why would a male celebrity be advertising sanitary napkins??
