A month can pass quickly and almost mean nothing. A month can make a difference. The latter is the driving force behind the project led by the Twitter account ‘OT7Ahga’ to honor and celebrate GOT7’s Jackson Wang.
In celebration of his 27th birthday, on March 28th, the passionate team of Jackson’s fans rallied his loyal fans from all over the world, named iGOT7 and affectionately known as Ahgases, to donate to twenty-eight different charities in his name. Inspired by the caring and warm persona of Jackon, his fans embodied the determination that comes so naturally to Jackson as he is known to encourage his fans to better themselves, to be resolute in their stance, and to lend a helping hand to those in need. It comes as no surprise that the organizations have chosen to aim to eradicate the global issues of domestic violence, sexual slavery, and human trafficking. These organizations seek to extract victims from the horrendous situations and to equip them with resources and access to justice, safety, and opportunities to live the life they deserve.
iGOT7s from countries such as South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Latin America, Mexico, North America, Africa, Spain, Turkey, the Philippines, Australia, Morocco, as well as countries in the Middle East such as Palestine and Jordan made contributions to this cause.
With such an impressive show of love and support for Jackson, Ahgases hope that many others will take Jackson’s determination to heart. He has time and again lived by his own philosophies and refused to let the negative attitudes and actions of others towards him define or stop him from achieving his goals, and that in of itself is cause to inspire others to follow in his footsteps. Whether we are near or far away from one another, a little bit of kindness can unite us. In Jackson’s own words, “although we might seem far away from each other, we might be closer than we thought.” KEEP ON GIVING AND MAKING HISTORY
