The Gaon Chart released its end of the year rankings for digital sales, physical album sales, and of course, overall rankings based on both digital and album sales data.
On January 27th, the Gaon Chart revealed its '2020 Girl Group Review'. According to the released data, BLACKPINK sold a whopping cumulative total of 1,700,000 copies in 2020, topping the rankings for physical album sales. The girls also topped the other two charts as well. The most streamed BLACKPINK's song was "How You Like That".
IZ*ONE was the runner-up on physical album sales, which differs from the earlier report by the Hanteo chart.
Kim Jin Woo from the Gaon chart predicted, "In 2021, BLACKPINK will continue to dominate the girl group market, while IZ*ONE is expected to grow further if their group contract renews. Oh My Girl left a lasting impression in 2020 so they would comfortably become one of the top 5 girl groups in 2021 if their fandom continues to grow. "
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
Blackpink only had 1 album and sold that much... The girls are the queen of kpop worldwide. Congratulations
