BTS’s V’s unequaled popularity in China reflects on the charts as his fans reign on the physical and digital albums/singles sales orders list for K-pop artists in 2020.

One of the most-discussed aspects of K-pop is undoubtedly the extraordinary love and efforts of the fandoms. In particular, the Chinese fans of the K-pop stars are widely known for their utmost affection and devotion. One such fanbase that often headlines is none other than BTS member V’s dedicated China Baidu V Bar.

Over the years, China Baidu V Bar has made a name for themselves as one of the biggest and most well-reputed fanbases for any K-pop idol. Their most recent birthday projects of constructing a school and a road in V’s name and the grand-scale first-ever advertisement on Burj Khalifa is still a hot topic among the masses. Adding onto that is V’s Chinese fans triumphing as the ones with the highest purchase orders in 2020.

Earlier this week, news of V’s Chinese fanbase topping the physical album sales list for a K-pop artist in 2020 made rounds on social media platforms.

They reportedly landed on the first and second spot with an astounding 230,300 copies of BTS’s album: ‘Map of the Soul: 7” and 170, 400 copies of ‘Map of the Soul: Persona.’ As per several Korean media outlets, they also set a new record in K-pop history with their massive support for the band’s album last year.

In addition to setting the highest sales record for physical albums, V’s Chinese fans are also leading the list of digital albums and singles purchased by the individual fanbases of the seven members in 2020.

Throughout the year, they had the highest contribution for all the albums and singles released by the septet on the official music platforms (NetEase Cloud Music and QQ Music) in China. V placed on top with a total of ¥ 1, 739, 841 while his bandmates Jungkook and JIMIN ranked second and third with ¥ 1, 308, 406, and ¥ 640, 359 respectively.

Korean Netizens also shared their amazement at V’s significant popularity and said, “So crazy how V’s fanbase took the first and second place for the most albums bought” and “V’s fanbase is on another level.”

Since his debut, V has been warmly treasured by his fans in China. His ever-growing popularity is always evident on various streaming platforms and social networking sites of the country. With his first-ever mixtape set to release soon, fans are excitedly awaiting to wholeheartedly support him in 2021 as well.
