BTS announced the single during a broadcast on VLive on July 27 and their forthcoming album "We have prepared a new single for ARMY, set for August 21. We are preparing an album for the second half of this year but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible. Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans”.

The members wanted to deliver something light and fun for the world during this hard time and "Dynamite" did exactly that.

I don't care too much about records, I'm just glad I love the song and video! Whether or not they beat more records doesn't change the fact that the song fullfills BTS's promise to cheer me up!
