On the Content Power Index that was recently released for the week of June 1 to 7, MBC variety program ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ ascended 21 spots to the top of the chart, ranking #1 among both dramas and non-dramas. The Content Power Index is a ranking developed through a collaboration between CJ ENM and Nielson Korea across 16 channels to determine which shows made the biggest impact of the week.

Among the biggest buzz-worthy topics for this episode of ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ was the relationship between Kang Daniel and his manager, Jung Dongyoon.

Kang Daniel was seen laughing because of his manager throughout the episode, sometimes to the bewilderment of others around them. Dongyoon explained, “I wouldn’t consider myself a funny person, but Kang Daniel laughs whenever he sees me. [...] I don’t know why he thinks what I say is funny, but of course I feel proud.”

It was also revealed that Dongyoon helped Daniel through his hardest time last year, staying by Daniel's side everyday for two months when the singer was on hiatus due to his mental and physical health.

Dongyoon explained, “[Daniel] said, ‘I like being with you.’ He asked me not to go anywhere and to keep working with him [...] He often says he loves me too. When he drinks, he hugs me and says ‘I love you.’ It makes me proud as a manager.”

Daniel conveyed how much he looks up to his manager and how he wishes he had known him longer. “I wish I knew him in middle school. I would have followed him wherever he went. It’s really hard to meet someone like Dongyoon.”

Clips of the artist-manager’s special relationship trended high on Naver TV and web portals. Viewers left comments such as:

Kang Daniel is so unchangingly nice. I could really see how hard he had it a while back, and how much effort his manager took in taking care of him. The two of them are nice to watch.

It's a relief that Kang Daniel seems to have a lot of good people around him. If you get hurt by someone once, it's hard to open your heart again, but it's nice to see that he's doing activities again after finding a good manager.

In addition to Daniel’s relationship with his manager, the episode also caused a buzz by revealing that the break room at Kang Daniel's company is filled with free snacks for the staff.
