BTS’s V Adds On To His ‘First In The History’ Collection As “Sweet Night” Re-peaks At #3 On iTunes, Japan.
Popularly known as the second biggest music industry in the world, the Japanese music market is considered as an incredibly difficult industry for foreigners to succeed in due to it being widely dominated by their local artists. Given its history, V peaking at #2 on the Japanese iTunes chart with an un-promoted solo soundtrack was a highly significant achievement as no other Korean soloist in history had bagged such a feat. In addition, V was also the first Korean soloist to rank on the Top 5 of the chart.
Upon its release in March 2020, “SweetNight” made a spectacular debut on various music charts of Japan proving his tremendous power as a soloist. The song has recently re-peaked at #3 on the iTunes chart as a celebratory present to commemorate V’s seventh anniversary as an idol. It is also noteworthy that V has maintained a steady grip on the chart as “Sweet Night” has ranked in the Top 5 for more than a day.
Adding on to the celebration, “Sweet Night” was recently played on “FMCocolo” one of the most popular radio stations in Japan. The FM station is one of the many International FM radio stations under the Megalopolis Radio Network covering 65% of the population.
As commendable as the achievements are, it is also unsurprising to see V making history on the musical charts of Japan given the fact that he has time and again recorded exceptional marketability in the country. His merchandise often records the highest demand as well as sales. Notably, V is also a recurring trend on Twipple, the Japanese Twitter, and has successfully emerged as one of the most adored foreign artists in the country.
