It's time for people to stop harassing all artists.
On social media and the comment sections of Korean media outlets, several artists have been shamed and bullied with questions about whether or not they donated to the coronavirus crisis. This would not be tolerated by those doing the questioning if they were chatting with friends online, or ambushed while walking down the street. The fact of the matter is, no one likes dealing with rude bullies.
Internet shaming is a way for people to be emotionally, psychologically and mentally abusive while cowardly hiding their real identity. Bullies need to think of the toll their actions have taken on the lives of these people/artists. Also, bullies must take responsibility for the damage they cause to the people who are harassed.
Jun Ji Hyun, Lee Si Eon, nor any other artists should be shamed for personal matters like this.
It is time to take legal action and bring lawsuits against all forms of harassment. People should never drop lawsuits against people who harass them because it makes the bullies feel empowered and they will continue this behavior on anyone who backs down.
No celebrity should feel obligated to donate large amounts of money. That's why its called a "donation", not a payment or charge. If they donate $100 million great! If they donate $2 great! If they don't donate anything, they shouldn't be shamed for it either and it does not make them a bad person. They worked hard and earned their money, they get to control what they want to do with it, not us "fans".
