With K-Pop being at the peak of popularity, many idol groups are gaining followers and a more solid international fanbase. Exposure and promotions are a daily basis for idols.
But is undeniable to admit that the Korean boybandBTS (Bangtan Boys, 방탄소년단) isat the top, with the release of it's new album Map of the Soul: 7 on February 21,2020 by Big Hit Entertainment.
Even though ARMYS couldn't break their 24H record on YouTube with the title track ON on YouTube, a member of the group has marked a new record in K-pop history. And ARMYS are here for it
Guess who?
...
Yeah, you hear it right..
No other than the 24 year old Busan boy, Park Jimin (박지민) , has broken a new record with the most viewed fancam of all time.
This record is held by him since 2018, but yesterday at 1:09AM Western Time, he became the first ever idol to surpass 100 million views with just one fancam on YouTube.
It's not the first time this idol has broken records on K-Pop.
Recently his solo solo song "Filter" from MOTS: 7 enter the UK charts, US BB 100, Canadian BB 100 and have gotten more than quarter a million streams on Spotify. Adding that it has more than 13M streams on YouTube without official MV or promotion from the company.
Also, Jimin's solo song Promise (약속) early last year broke SoundCloud record for most successful 24hour debut and is the most streamed song by a Korean artist on that platform with more than 200M streams.
Articles have been written praising his outstanding dance skills and performances. So there's no doubt why K-Media nicknamed him 'The King of Fancam', 'Stage Commander' and 'Dance Prodigy/Legend'.
Overall with his caring, charming and
humble personality, is more than obvious why he is so loved by ARMYS and the other members as well.
