Moomoos are taking online to express their frustration at the Melon Music Awards for their disrespect towards Mamamoo at the November 30 show. The hashtag #RespectMamamoo reached #1 trending in Korea shortly after the event aired. Some of the instances that are angering fans include no red carpet Interview for the group, their performance time slot being in the 1st half (before many of their hoobae groups), no mention of their nomination for Artist of the Year or Song of the Year (Mamamoo ranked 3rd after EXO and BTS), the group missing from the outro clip credits, and having the shortest stage time of 4 mins. Fans also noticed that Hwasa's performance of TWIT was shortened and the backing track for gogobebe was sped up to fit within the time constraints.

Hwasa also appeared to be frustrated with the conditions. One fancam shows her walking offstage after the first verse of TWIT (See video below 0:59). Fans explained that Hwasa realized mid performance that Melon was using prerecorded footage, but making her perform live anyways. Moomoos were outraged that she put the effort to perform while sick, only for the footage not to be used.

Fans, however, are applauding Mamamoo's response to their treatment. Clips of the group throwing shade to MMA throughout their appearance are making fans laugh online.
