During the press conference with reporters held on the morning of July 8, Lee Yong Pyo - the chief of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency - made an announcement on Lee Minwoo's incident through the response to series of questions, "We completed the investigation on two victims on June 29. We are currently conducting other necessary investigations such as CCTV analysis and planning to summon the suspected as soon as possible."
According to the police, Lee Minwoo was booked for the charge of sexually harassing two women who turned out to be his acquaintances sitting at the next table while he was out drinking at a pub in Sinsa Ward, Seoul on June 29.
After the drinking party ended, one of the two women went to the police station to report the incident and later both of them accused Lee Minwoo. Strangely, they recently decided to drop the accusation. However, the charge of sexual abuse is not one of the "crimes that cannot be prosecuted against victim's will" (crimes that cannot be put on legal punishment unless the victim wants to punish the perpetrator). Therefore, if the alleged charge against Lee Minwoo is proved based on the results of the investigation, the police can still transfer the male singer with a prosecution proposal to the Prosecutor's Office.
Lee Minwoo's agency, Liveworks Company, denied the above allegation, "Although the nature of the incident is not harassment, it was reported as sexual harassment. Through conversation, related parties have resolved all misunderstandings and canceled the accusations".
