On May 13, rumors of ICIA's disbandment spread through the fandom following a farewell post from a popular ICIA fan page who says the news came straight from their manager.
While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, ICIA has faced a number of issues so far this year. Since early 2019, ICIA had been appearing as a duo with members Nayoon and Youmin. Around the start of the year, Hyokyung's departure was silently confirmed when it was revealed she would re-debut in the upcoming girl group Label Up as Coca. Bandi had also wiped her SNS earlier in the year and unfollowed most of the members. Recently, ICIA's Daum cafe shut down while their official SNS were set to private andNayoon removed all ICIA references from her SNS on May 12.
Hours after making the post, Nayoon made a comment on the post that seems to confirm the news.
ICIA originally debuted on October 19, 2015, as SIDA with the single "It's You". After changing their name to ICIA in April 2016, they released their 1st (2nd overall) and the most popular single "Time Bomb", "Sad Heel" in 2017 and "Are You Kidding" last November. Despite a number of line-up changes over the years, the group maintained usual attention with ICIA ranking at #18 in group popularity at the end of 2018.
I feel like girl groups have much more harden to survive than boy groups and if they have only a few membars like ICIA people don't care about them even more- even I don't pay a lot of attetion to them if they were not from bigger labels or if the members didn't show in p101 or another survivals because I just don't know them and because I work a lot I only can 'meet' them more likely like that
