Yang Hyun Suk, the head of YG Entertainment, has once again violated building codes.
According to Newspim on April 3, Yang Hyun Suk's building in Mapo-gu, Seoul has been illegally renovated. The report states Yang Hyun Suk built an additional storage room on the rooftop without receiving an official permit from the Mapo district.
Pocha (drinking establishments) are located inside the building. The businesses are also accused of tax evasion as they're registered as regular restaurants rather than entertainment facilities, despite having a dance floor and a stage.
This is not the first time the same building became an issue for building code violation. Since 2012, the building has been reported to the district a total of 9 times for various building code violations. Yang Hyun Suk did follow the district's orders, but the building has violated codes again this year.
In the past, YG Entertainment building in Hapjeong-dong has also violated building codes. In 2015, Yang Hyun Suk did pay a fine of 3 million KRW for the violation. However, he has been ignoring the demolition order for 9 years and has not taken any action to fix the issue, according to Newspim.
