Super Junior's Heechul and IU donated to victims of the recent Gangwon Province wildfire.
On April 5, reports revealed Heechul donated 30 million Won ($26,360.42 USD) to help those affected by the wildfire through the organization 'Fruits of Love', and IU donated 100 million Won ($87,870.50 USD) through the 'Green Umbrella Children's Foundation'.
As Gangwon is Heechul's hometown province, he expressed, "I was very hurt seeing the wildfires spread around the Kangwon Province. I hope this becomes a bit of help to the locals." The 'Green Umbrella Children's Foundation' also stated, "IU has consistently donated to the children of low-income families and students, and after hearing the news of the fire, she donated 100 million Won. IU's donation of 100 million Won will go towards the children of low-income families, children living with elderly grandparents, and children with single parents who were affected by the fires."
Though the Gangwon Province wildfire has been put out, there was a large amount of property lost. One man in his 50s lost his life, while one other person suffered an injury.

To the people shaming IU and Heechul for donating, what is wrong with you? Heechul is from there, that's his hometown province so obviously he would want to help in any way he can. Wouldn't you also want to send money to help rebuild your hometown if you were in his position? And IU donating to families with low-income who were affected by the fire, that's wonderful, they probably don't have insurences nor funds to rebuild themselves. Why are you picking on people who are trying to help out? Them donating could also lead to their fans donating, especially Heechul as his fans know that he is personally connected to the place that has been ruined. That's why it's good that it's reported on, because it can make other people do the same thing.
