Another popular idol appeared as a contestant on MBC's singing battle series 'Mask King' this week!
On the March 13 episode, 'Newton' went up against 'Chang Young Sil' for the chance to proceed to the second round and get one step closer to battling current champion 'Klimt.'
However, their performance of TVXQ's "Hug" was unable to help them advance, losing to their competitor by a slim margin.
'Newton' then took off their mask and began to perform Kim Sung Jae's "As I Told You," revealing to the audience that they were none other than JBJ95's Takada Kenta.
During his reveal interview, he received praise for his impeccable Korean skill.
"From when I was in high school, I was a big fan of Teen Top, so three years ago, I came to Korea [to become an idol]," he explained. "Back then, I couldn't say more than 'hello' and 'thank you,' but I actually like traditional Korean bathhouses a lot. At Korean bathhouses, there's a lot of old people, right? While I would talk to the old people there, it really helped me hone my Korean skills."
He then added that his goal was to become so good at the Korean language that native speakers would forget he was a foreign performer.

Considering how much old people like to talk, he probably got to practice his listening skills more than his talking skills.
