South Korean professional figure skater LimEun Soo, 16, was injured by American professional figure skater, Mariah Bell, 22.
During the official rehearsal for the 'ISU World Championships - Women's Short Program,' Lim was slowly skating on the edge of the rink after completing her turn. Mariah Bell, who was scheduled to rehearse after Lim, allegedly kicked and stabbed Lim's left calf with her skate blades, according to Lim's management All That Sports.
Lim had to leave the rehearsal due to severe pain and received emergency treatment from the medical staff. She also received additional treatment by trainers of the Korea Skating Union.
A rep from All That Sports stated to Spot TV, "Lim Eun Soo was skating close to the edge as much as possible to not interfere with other skaters. It seems it was intentional, considering how Bell came from behind."
All That Sports also claimed Bell has been continuously bullying Lim during preparation for the 'ISU World Championships.'
A rep told Spot TV, "In the past, we believed we should just ignore it but it got severely bad as the championships approached," and said, "It wouldn't have been this bad if she apologized for once."
Lim expressed strong desires to continue in the competition despite her injury. Ultimately, at the championships on March 20, Lim ranked #5 with a score of 72.91, while Bell followed right behind at #6 with a score of 71.26.
Meanwhile, netizens have taken over Bell's Instagram with criticism, commenting, "Shame on you," "Skate blade is not for cutting another player's leg cowardly. Live honestly," " I am really disappointed with your terror for Eunsoo. Your attitude is not that of an athlete but racism."
Okay, whether the bullying allegations are true or not, even if you injure someone COMPLETELY BY ACCIDENT, any decent human being would still apologize.
